Cabalva Mill Cottage is an immaculately restored, one-bedroom holiday cottage on the banks of the River Wye – perfect for two, and a wonderful romantic escape. Set in secluded woodland beside a gently flowing waterfall, it's ideal for romantics, naturalists, fishing enthusiasts and anyone after a truly unique retreat.

The cottage has been sympathetically restored to the highest standards, so you can enjoy traditional features – a large fireplace, exposed stonework and oak flooring – alongside every modern comfort. A blow-up mattress is also available (bedding not provided) for a second fishing guest.

With its own private driveway, Mill Cottage sits within the wider Cabalva Estate, a family-run sheep and beef farm surrounded by perry pear orchards, hedgerows and oak woodland, overlooking the River Wye, Hay and the Black Mountains beyond. Fishing your own stretch of the river, right in front of the house, is a major draw, and many guests return year after year. Please note this isn't a manicured fishery – there are no pegs, and access can be tricky unless you're able-bodied.

Owing to its proximity to the River Wye, Mill Cottage is not suitable for children.
