Cwm Pelved House
Hillside Setting. Private Drive. Overlooks Cabalva Estate. Sleeps 13
Cwm Pelved House
Set within the beautiful Cabalva Estate, Cwm Pelved House enjoys total privacy in its unique hillside setting, reached by its own private drive. Originally the owner's principal residence, it looks out over the Cabalva Estate and the River Wye as it winds through the Welsh Marches – with only the sheep in the next field for company.
The six-bedroom house comprises three interconnected buildings with a fascinating history dating back to the 15th century, mentioned in Kilvert's famous diaries and just off Offa's Dyke. It has been meticulously restored, retaining a wealth of historic features alongside every modern luxury, and offers masses of space to relax: a large open-plan kitchen with sofas and a wood burning stove, a traditional living area with oak beams and piano, a big snug with an enormous working fireplace, and a large conservatory with fabulous views down the valley. Bedrooms are at either end of the house, making it ideal for two or more families to holiday together while keeping their own space.
Hill walking, cycling, riding and canoeing are all close at hand, and the book town of Hay-on-Wye is just three miles away. Fishing on the River Wye is available by prior arrangement.

What an amazing place to celebrate a special birthday with all our family under one roof. A beautiful house which has been kitted out fantastically, the kitchen has everything we needed and more. The views are breathtaking. Would recommend the owl centre and the Elan valley - great place for children.”

We had a fabulous long weekend here with our son and daughter and both families( 5 adults and 5 children) Perfect house with beautiful views. We had a great boat trip ( canoe) in four boats from Hay to the Boat Inn…...Thank you for a great house with no neighbours we would definitely recommend it.

Many thanks for this wonderful location. There were 11 of us and I doubt whether we could of found anywhere more suitable than here. The area is stunning and the seclusion very welcome. Facilities excellent. The canoe hire was alot of fun and would recommend it. Thanks for your hospitality.
